September, 2011 was the third wettest September on record with 10.27 
inches of rain. The wettest on record occurred in 1999, when 13.07 
inches of rain fell.
 
The two month period from August through September, 2011 was the 
wettest such period on record with 29.58 inches of rain. The  
previous wettest such period on record occurred in 1882, when 18.49 
inches of rain fell.
 
Finally, 2011 tied 12 other years for the year with the sixth most 
days when the temperature reached or exceeded 100 degrees with two 
days. The year with the most days was 1988 with five days. 
 
Records date back to 1864.
