...Wettest meteorological Summer on record at Philadelphia...

Meteorological Summer (june through august), 2013 is now the wettest 
on record. Through 2 PM EDT today, August 1, 2013, 24.78 inches of 
rain has fallen this meteorological Summer at the Philadelphia 
International Airport. The previous wettest on record occurred in 
2011, when 24.58 inches of rain fell. Official climate records for 
Philadelphia date back to 1872.

This statement will be updated at the end of August to include any 
additional rainfall that falls through the end of the month.
