Somerset — 4 PM

Impressive snow on the deck. Glad you just let me know he went out in his yard and got 31″, cause a deck ob would never cut it. Just look at nearby roofs and you’ll see them blown clear of snow. That snow had to land somewhere…..like on the sheltered nearby deck!

I’m being “particular” here because the totals are so massive. We’re only going to seriously consider measurements that are well done….transects included. Also, it is far better to accept obs as legit if the observer has an observing history. By that I mean via a Coop station or a CoCoRaHS observer who has been consistently been reporting for the past few years. Not an ob from someone who has appeared “out of the blue”.

Cheers,
Dave

Somerset — 4 PM — 20″ still with heavy and blowing snow. Temperature has dropped to 24; pressure has generally stayed steady over the past few hours between 29.65″ and 29.70″. Very briefly had some snow pellets that you could hear on windows….. Jeff
